GLOBAL WARMING IS NOT CAUSED BY C02

Explanation of Details

Here's a new page: Summary In Simple Words

This is a wordy explanation for anyone who doesn't grasp the short statements.

Links to references are found on "Global Warming Main Page".

There is not a scientifically valid mechanism for carbon dioxide causing global warming.

The atmosphere cannot heat the oceans, because it does not have enough heat capacity. The claimed 0.6°C increase in atmospheric temperature is not significant for heating the oceans.

James Hansen (the chief modeler) forgot to take oceans into account, because he didn't learn proper standards of science as a physicist. Physics drifted into super engineering, because the basic questions are impenetrable, like what is force, inertia or voltage. Engineers sell a product which tests their results. They are like salesmen. Science standards are on a different planet, where abstract realities are studied through meticulous standards of verifiability and accountability and aligned upon evolving, basic knowledge. Hansen doesn't know that anyone needs to verify his results in an open and accountable way, which tends to be the problem throughout the subject of global warming. The claimed scientists assume their results are proprietary, as they would be in engineering, but which is absurd in science. What Science is

A behind the scenes clincher for the contrivers is that CO2 levels are supposedly higher than any time over the past 650,000 years, which means humans are doing something nature does not do. They do not deny that humans add 1% as much CO2 per year as already in the air, or that humans add 3% of all sources, the other 97% resulting mostly from decay. The net effect is that natural CO2 supposedly does the equivalent of filling a bucket, and everything humans add is overflow. There is nothing similar to a fill level for CO2 in the atmosphere.Natural variations are greater than the human input. Oceans are causing the increase in CO2 in the air by releasing more CO2 as they get warmer due to solar and geothermal heating.
details below

Very seldom does anyone look into the science of global warming, not the least reason being that for all but the most technical specialists, there's no place to look. The promoters of the global warming hype had a responsibility to explain the science of their claims. But they did the opposite—they skipped over the science with the flimsy claim that the science is settled, and action must be taken before the "tipping point" occurs. Even if the science were settled, people needed to know what it is. Science is more than a yes/no question. All of the complexities are relevant to how the subject is handled, and to claim anything in science is settled is absurd.

Obviously, the global warming agitators don't have a clue what the science of the subject is; they have an agenda, and carbon dioxide brought their agenda out of obscurity in spades. Why kick a live horse when it's running so good. Their agenda is green environmentalism, but that to is phony. Nothing they do is green by either the criterion of restoring nature or reducing energy and resource consumption. They want to spend any amount of money to produce green, while the more they spend, the more wasteful they get. They don't take all of the factors into account, and with global warming, they took none of the science into account.

Water Vapor Explained

The official source which supposedly ends all discussion of the subject is the IPCC. They claim that the global temperature has increased by 0.6°C over the past century due to humans putting carbon dioxide into the air. But only 0.2°C was directly due to the CO2, while the other 0.4°C was due to increased water vapor resulting from the first 0.2°C caused by the CO2.

So here's an explanation of this subject showing what a fraud it is. The amount of water vapor in the air varies from 0 to 3% depending upon humidity. An average cannot be measured, so a good guess is used, and the usual claim is that the average is about 1.2%. Since carbon dioxide is highly uniform, its average is easily measured at 385 ppm (parts per million). Dividing the 1.2% for water vapor by the 385 ppm for CO2 indicates that there is 31 times as much water vapor in the air as CO2.

Another important fact is that water vapor will absorb three times as much radiation as CO2. This statement is based on bandwidth of absorption. It means that the number of frequencies of radiation absorbed is three times as great for water vapor. This is determined by graphing the absorption. The absorption peaks are three times as wide for water vapor as for CO2.

Therefore, one should multiply the 31 times the 3 and get about 100 times as much of a greenhouse gas for water vapor as for CO2. Climatologists and the IPCC admit that water vapor is a stronger greenhouse gas than CO2.

So the promoters of the global warming hype (including the IPCC) decided to attribute most of the global warming to a secondary effect by water vapor. They have a bad habit of starting at the end point by picking convenient numbers and then rationalizing them. When there is no significant accountability, as in this case, the rationalizations get so absurd or nonexistent as to be blatant fraud.

If a 0.2°C increase in temperature due to CO2 increase can cause an increase in water vapor to cause an increase in temperature of three times that amount, then the same should occur everywhere. Temperatures increase about 20°C between night and day. Temperatures increase 20-30°C between the tropics and temperate zones. When does it cause three times that much increase due to water vapor? Heat will cause water to vaporize within a few minutes or not at all.

The argument for this absurdity is that the secondary increase in temperature is a one time thing. There are several frauds in such a claim. Nature cannot distinguish secondary effects from primary effects. A temperature increase is always nothing other than a temperature increase. This means the 0.4°C supposedly caused by water vapor must also be increased by a factor of three due to its secondary effects. The result would be thermal runaway.

One of the arguments is that the average water vapor is stable and unchanging, unlike the effects of CO2. That claim is absurd, because most of the water vapor is put into the air by oceans, and they vary immensely on a long term basis, as demonstrated by El Ninos and El Ninas in the Pacific Ocean. The Gulf Stream in the Atlantic also varies a lot. Oceans control the climate; and if they are not changing the temperature through water vapor, then humans are not changing it through carbon dioxide.

Ice Ages

Global warming occurs exactly the same way every 100 thousand years, as an ice age begins. At the beginning of the previous ice age, 100,000 years ago, the ocean temperature was 0.2°C warmer than now. The graph for ocean temperature is this:

The graph shows that before each ice age, ocean temperatures go sharply vertical, and then there is a rapid cool-down. Ocean temperatures at the present time are near the usual peak which occurs before the cool-down.

Scientists are supposed to have a thorough understanding of ice ages, because there is a drastic change in the biology and geology of the earth during the process. Do you hear any mention of ice ages in the discourse on global warming? There is none beyond occasional quips of ridicule. To avoid any mention of ice ages shows that a hoax is being perpetrated on the public. Honest scientists take ice ages into account, but they have been shoved aside and silenced, as propagandists took over the subject.

Motives

Propagandists synthesized a false explanation for the beginning of an ice age by claiming carbon dioxide in the air is the cause of the changes. One motive is that incompetent persons, in science and out, are constantly looking for false realities to promote as a method of concealing their incompetence. Another motive is that population controllers are constantly looking for human causes of problems as a pretext for lowering the population of the planet.

Carbon Dioxide was Exploitable

Propagandists focussed on carbon dioxide as the supposed cause of global climate changes, because there is a half truth to it. Carbon dioxide in the air picks up heat slightly better than nitrogen and oxygen. Nitrogen is 78% of the air; oxygen is 21% and carbon dioxide is 0.04%.

So a propaganda leap was made from that half truth to the claim that more carbon dioxide means more heat in the air. This leap of logic is not science. Science is measurement of evidence which is evaluated through correct logic based upon established principles. A leap in logic does not have to have any relationship to objective reality. One could say that since humans walk on two legs, and dogs on four, humans should only weigh half as much as dogs, or humans should eat half as much food as dogs. The logic can't go in any wild direction in contradiction to known facts.

The carbon dioxide propaganda contradicts the science including evidence, logic and major studies. At the starting point, there is no valid logic to the claim that more carbon dioxide in the air will produce more heat. What actually happens is this:

Radiation Absorption

As sunshine heats up the earth's surface, some of the heat is radiated outward as infrared radiation (IR). Infrared means longer wavelength than visible light. Visible light covers the range of 0.4 to 0.8 micro meters (microns or µM) of wave length. Infrared goes from 0.8 to a few hundred microns. All objects emit some types of radiation in the same way. The amount depends upon their temperature; and there is a shift to shorter wavelengths at higher temperature.

The radiation given off by all objects based on their temperature is called black body radiation. There is also some narrow bands of radiation emitted and absorbed depending upon chemical bonds; and it is called fingerprint radiation. The nitrogen and oxygen which make up most of the air only emit and absorb Black Body radiation; they do not emit or absorb fingerprint radiation, because they do not have suitable chemical bonds. Carbon dioxide does have suitable bonds for Fingerprint radiation; and it absorbs at 2.7, 4.3 and 15 microns, all within the curve for the black body radiation given off by the surface of the earth.

What it Means

Black Body radiation given off by the earth is absorbed more "strongly" by carbon dioxide than by nitrogen and oxygen, because fingerprint radiation is absorbed more strongly than black body radiation. The meaning of the word "strongly" needs to be evaluated scientifically.

Carbon dioxide will absorb the IR available to it at its strongest peak of 15 microns in about 10 meters of distance (external source), whereas nitrogen and oxygen absorb the black body radiation available to them in perhaps two kilometers. I haven't seen a number for the exact distance for nitrogen and oxygen, but it is considerably longer than the distance for fingerprint radiation. More distance is required on the shouders of the absorption peaks than in the center.

If humans double the amount of carbon dioxide they put into the air, and they add 3% of the carbon dioxide to the air, the distance over which it absorbs its fingerprint radiation reduces from 10 meters to 9.7 meters. Could this really be relevant? Some persons say it is relevant, because it increases the number of cycles required to get into outer space by 3%. Their simplistic logic is that more carbon dioxide means more time required for IR to escape into outer space.

Convection Error

They err in that logic, because it does not take into account convection, which means wind circulating the air. The difference between 10 meters and 9.7 meters rapidly disappears in the circulating air. I estimate that heat stays in the atmosphere about a month before escaping into space. I make this estimate based upon the fact that maximum sunshine (June 21) precedes maximum local temperature by almost a month.

I've seen it said that there is no significant conduction of heat into the atmosphere, because air is a good insulating material. The truth is that when conduction is combined with convection, large amounts of heat are transferred, which is why fans are used for cooling. Conduction must be included with convection to get a transfer of heat.

Rationalizers of global warming hype use a small number for the amount of heat which leaves the surface of the earth through conduction and convection, since a measurement is impossible. A process of elimination shows that most heat leaves the atmosphere through conduction and convection. Radiation leaving the earth's surface can be shown to be miniscule through night vision equipment. Some heat also leaves the surface of the oceans through evaporation. I estimate that amount to be less than 10%, but no one knows for sure, and larger amounts are sometimes used. The only remaining method is condution and convection.

Transformation Error

Some persons also err in the assumption that the IR goes through cycles of re-emission and re-absorption as a method of getting to outer space. What really happens is that the first time the carbon dioxide absorbs its fingerprint radiation, the energy is instantly transformed into heat. This transformation would take less than a trillionth of a second, which means before it can be re-emitted as radiation. The heat is then conducted to all molecules in the vicinity, which means 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen. After some time, an equivalent amount of energy is radiated as Black Body radiation by the nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and everything in the atmosphere. (See explanation on Absorption Spectra page.)

In other words, during each cycle of absorption and emission, most of the energy is transferred to the nitrogen and oxygen. After the first cycle, it is nearly irrelevant whether carbon dioxide is involved in the process of absorption and emission. Any greenhouse effect caused by carbon dioxide is limited to the first cycle of absorption and emission, which occurs within about 10 meters of the starting point at the earth's surface. Any changes over that short of a distance are reduced to irrelevance by convectional currents.

Another concept to be aware of is that when IR is re-emitted in the atmosphere, it is emitted in all directions including downward, upward, left, right, etc. This means there is no significant change in location of the heat resulting from re-emission. The heat moves toward the edges of the atmosphere through convection, not radiation.

Higher in the Atmosphere

A rudimentary type of logic that goes around these arguments is to look at carbon dioxide in isolation from everything else. When measuring IR absorption in a tube (maybe one meter in length), all IR is absorb at its critical peaks with a very small amount of CO2. But doubling of CO2 is said to increase absorption by 10%, because shoulders on the edges of the absorption peaks absorb more. So the logic is shifted to higher levels in the atmosphere, where shoulder absorption is more significant; and viola—the result is supposedly global warming.

Not so. First of significance is that infinitesimally small quantities are involved, as explained on the page titled Crunching the Numbers. Then, nothing about shoulder absorption is different except the distance of absorption. Outside the one meter tube (in the atmosphere), shoulder absorption might require 100 meters or 1000 meters (depending upon how far on the shoulder) before striking another CO2 molecule. A 3% increase in atmospheric CO2 (resulting from humans doubling their output of CO2) reduces those distance by 3%, which is irrelevant. And some other molecule besides CO2 would absorb the radiation in more or less distance than CO2, so it makes little difference whether it is CO2 or some other molecule. (For the sake of argument, I speak of humans doubling their 3% input as if it could occur, when in fact, oceans regulate the amount of CO2 in the air preventing any source from significantly increasing it.)

There is a different effect at the outer edges of the atmosphere. Some IR which might otherwise go into outer space might be caught by CO2 which might not otherwise be, when the concentration is increased. But this occurs at a height where the rest of the atmosphere is not influenced by the result. It cannot cause global warming. And the quantities are infinitesimally small to a point of irrelevance.

Reflection

There is a belief by some scientists that reflection is the reason why CO2 creates global warming, and an exact number can be calculated for the resulting global warming. They say 1.2°C increase is the result.

Beware of the glibness of such claims. Fools rush in where wise men fear to tread. There is nothing about the atmosphere or its gasses which is simple enough to cough up such numbers.

Supposedly, more CO2 reflects more radiation back toward the earth. Everything about that concept clashes with the rest of science. Supposedly, laboratory measurements show that CO2 emits as it absorbs to create the so-called reflection. That's not quite what reflection is. I can't say what the laboratory measurements show beyond the certain fact that if you can't see it for yourself, you will be lied to about it—within science and without. There are a few scientists who make sure they properly represent a subject, but they don't make such rash claims.

But even if such reflection were occurring, the contradictions are beyond belief. Whatever is being reflected is not being absorbed and converted into heat. So such "reflection" would be diminishing the ability of CO2 to heat the atmosphere.

Then there is no such thing as "reflecting radiation back to the earth." The radiation only interacts with the earth within the first 10 meters. Above that, the radiation is doing everything it does in a three dimensional, non-directional manner. It does everything it does in all directions equally.

It appears that the persons who are aligned upon the reflection concept have no clear understanding of the details and therefore make a lot of stupid assumptions. Such persons will invariably allow themselves to be lied to and multiply the lies as they pass them on. In other words, the supposed laboratory measurements could just about have concerned jelly fish and resulted in the same conclusions.

Effective Zones

Greenhouse gasses can only add heat to the troposphere in narrow zones near the surface of the earth and near the outer edge of the troposphere, as shown below.

Near the surface, all radiation gets absorbed and used up. In the center of the atmosphere, emissions are in all directions equally, and emissions and absorption are equal, so no heat increase occurs. At the upper edge of the troposphere, radiation escapes into the stratosphere, and some of the escape can be blocked by greenhouse gasses.

The lines shown are not in proportion. The bottom line is less that 1 part per thousand of the troposphere, and the top line is less that 1% of the troposphere.

Then there are additional reasons why no significant heating occurs in these zones as explained elsewhere. For example, doubling the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere would reduce the lower line from 10 meters to 5 meters, which is not an increase in heat.

No Valid Mechanism

In other words, there is not a scientifically valid mechanism for claiming carbon dioxide is creating global warming. All of the claims about seeing it and measuring it cannot be anything but propaganda, because there is no such mechanism. In fact, some major scientific studies indicate that humans and carbon dioxide are not the causes of the climate changes which are observed.

Two Studies Show Ice Accumulating

For example, two separate studies show ice increasing over land while decreasing over the ocean. This was shown at Antarctica and Greenland. The reason is because increased precipitation is occurring due to oceans heating up. The precipitation is accumulating as snow and ice on land faster than it is melting. But ice over the oceans is rapidly melting due to increased ocean temperature. If the heat originates with carbon dioxide in the air, how can it heat the oceans but not melt the increased snowfall over land? Something else is heating the oceans.

Propagandists don't tell the public that ice is increasing over land. Instead, they look to showpiece glaciers and claim ice is melting over land. Small glaciers are melting rapidly for many reasons unrelated to carbon dioxide. They always do melt between ice ages, and soot on the surface increases melting. There are also micro climates which are increasing in temperature due to warmer oceans, and these are heating Europe and Alaska, where the showpiece glaciers are melting. Tundra is also melting due to these micro climate changes. Ice melting on nearby oceans is causing air temperatures to increase in northern areas. This effect is not due to carbon dioxide but oceans heating for some other reason. Oceans

Oceans Regulate

Humans cannot influence the amount of carbon dioxide in the air, because oceans regulate the amount to the most minute degree. Propagandists sometimes acknowledge this and sometimes contradict it. They acknowledge that oceans are absorbing increasing amounts of carbon dioxide, when they are pretending that the oceans are being harmed by the result. They contradict it in claiming humans determine the amount of carbon dioxide in the air.

It is a fact of chemistry that water absorbs carbon dioxide and establishes an equilibrium with the amount in the air. Equilibrium means absorption and release is continuous, while the concentration on either side is defined by the chemistry. Warmer water releases more carbon dioxide, and so does saltier water. If the oceans were not high in salt, there would not be enough carbon dioxide in the air to sustain plant growth.

As oceans heat up, they release more carbon dioxide into the air, which is why carbon dioxide levels in the air track with ocean temperatures. The reason why there has been an increase in carbon dioxide in the air over the past 150 years is because the oceans have been heating up, not because humans are producing more.

This equilibrium is observable when atmospheric carbon dioxide is measured. These measurements are made on a mountain in Hawaii, where the air is not disturbed by nearby human activity. The measurements show that when the Pacific Ocean heats up due to an El Nino, the carbon dioxide in the air increases; and when the El Nino disappears, the CO2 level in the air normalizes. This shows that oceans control the amount of carbon dioxide in the air rapidly and to the most minute degree.

A bar graph showing the CO2 increase with El Ninos is on this page.

Carbon dioxide is not self-regulating based on supply and demand, because the upper limit of toxicity is very high, and the lower limit of availability is almost nonexistent due to the large amount in the oceans. A stable level only exists because the oceans regulate through solubility equilibrium.

Reversing Cause and Effect

When CO2 measurements could be made in ice core samples, it was found that over the past 150 thousand years (more than one ice age cycle) the CO2 levels in the air tracked with temperatures. This finding was said to be critical in convincing many scientists of the influence of CO2 on climate and ice ages. But that rationale turns on a hinge point of viewing CO2 as cause rather than effect. If CO2 is effect of temperatures, the result is no more than a curiosity in line with expected chemistry. All basic principles indicated that CO2 should increase with temperatures—as effect, not cause—because warmer oceans release more CO2. To pretend that CO2 causes the temperature increases just because of a correlation is not valid, because it is the reverse of what is expected from established principles. External Reference

Unprecedented Increase in CO2

It was supposedly found that CO2 levels in the air never get as high during ice age cycles as they are now. Variations during ice age cycles were measured at 180 to 280 ppm, while now they are 384 ppm. Supposedly, only human activity could have caused such an increase.

There is a basic flaw in logic in saying the human input of 3% can result in a cumulative total of 30%, while the remaining input of 97% does not increase the cumulative total.

Since humans only add 3% of the CO2 to the atmosphere, while the other 97% is mostly from decay, the implication is that nature has a fill level for CO2 in the air, and everything humans add is overflow. There is no such fill level for CO2 in the air. Nature does not take out what it puts in. The take-out is mostly from photosynthesis, and the input is mostly decay. There is no relationship between photosynthesis and decay, which means there is no fill level for CO2 in the air, and natural variations are much greater than human additions.

In the past, CO2 levels were much higher than at present. During the dinosaur years, there was 5 times as much CO2 in the air; and during the Cambrian era, there was 20 times as much. (external graph)

Rationalizers mention the fact that more CO2 in the air promotes better growth, which they refer to as negative forcing. But the relationships are too limited to be relevant. Most photosynthesis in nature is limited by light, nutrients and water, not availability of CO2.

Ice Core Measurements

The problem in saying humans caused a 30% increase in atmospheric CO2 is that the earlier measurements were made in ice core samples, while present measurements are made in the air. The different methods of measurement are not comparable, because the ice core measurements are extremely dubious. The method was to crush the ice sample in a vacuum and "rapidly" measure the contents. The measurement is a concentration relative to the nitrogen and oxygen. See 30% Fraud and also Fake Ice Core Measurements

Everything about such a procedure sends up red flags. How perfect can the vacuum be without destroying the ice sample? A vacuum cannot be created rapidly; so how could rapid crushing be relevant? A vacuum would explode the gasses in the ice causing them to mix with the gasses being evacuated. Then there's a problem with the sample. How stable can the components be over time? There would be a high tendency for CO2 to react or migrate, which would reduce the peaks.

Nothing about such a procedure points to an absolute value which can be compared to other methods of measurement. All indications are that measurements in ice are much lower than real values. There were direct measurements of CO2 in the air back then, and they show much higher values than the ice core measurements, as indicated on this link:
External Criticism of Ice Core Procedure-pdf
Jaworowski: critic of ice core measurements
Latest Science Agrees - early CO2 measurements

Since oceans regulate CO2 in the air to the most minute degree, any real increase is due to warmer oceans releasing more. There is no justification in reading human activity into an increase. External Reference

Computer Models

The propagandists have numbers for every purpose, but they get them from computer models which they juggle until the numbers show what they want them to show. There is no validity to computer models which are not based on correct principles at the starting point.

The computer models show 0.6°C increase in recent times, and an expected increase of 1-6°C in the future, while an analysis of basic principles show that humans cannot increase the absorption effects of CO2 by more than 0.0002°C, as explained on the web page titled Crunching the Numbers.

Predicting climate with computer models is absurd to a point of fraud. It's like putting a two horsepower motor on a roller skate and claiming it will win the Indianapolis 500. There are too many complexities which are not taken into account.

The most important complexity not taken into account is oceans; and they determine about 98% of the climate. Oceans cannot be modeled, because they are way too complex and erratic; and almost no information is available. James Hansen, the chief modeler, pretends that the atmosphere changes the oceans rather than the oceans changing the atmosphere. It's absurd, because the oceans have 1,000 times as much heat capacity as the atmosphere.

Oceans absorb a large amount of radiant energy from the sun and hold it due to the depths of absorption and circulation. Then they move it around and release it in unpredictable ways.

Only observation of nature provides evidence of the total, integrated effects of climate and the oceans influence over climate. I describe some of the evidence on the page titled The Next Ice Age May have been Triggered in 2008.

How it Happened

Corrupters steamrolled over the science of this subject from the beginning. For example, scientists considered the effect of oceans regulating the amount of CO2 in the air and drew the conclusion that oceans would neutralize any effect by humans. But a rationalizer noticed that ocean water stays in layers and said, therefore there isn't enough mixing to absorb carbon dioxide from the air. Then the propagandists claimed that the sham explanation was the final proof.

The real evidence shows that there is nearly twenty times as much CO2 moving into and out of the oceans as humans produce. It shows that there is 200 times as much carbon in the surface oceans as humans produce in a year. It shows that oceans release and absorb a measurable amount of CO2 due to an El Nino. It shows that the pH at the surface of the oceans and deeper is alkaline (pH 8.1) which absorbs CO2. If the surface were saturated, the pH would have to be acidic. These points of evidence show exactly what is happening, while propagandists defy and ignore such evidence in promoting sham explanations which strain out gnats and swallow camels.

The most noticeable feature of the global warming propaganda is the standard. It's totally devoid of explanations of evidence and logic. In place of rational evaluation is a railroad job—like 99% of the scientists agree; or there could be no other cause for all of this ice melting than human activity; or this hasn't occurred in the past xxx years.

At the quasi scientific level is infinite mathematical detail based on a false foundation. It doesn't matter which way all of those molecules are moving, when humans have no ability to influence them. It's like thousands of studies and billions of dollars spent to determine how the green Martians planted the trees. Every fact about trees could be correct, but it doesn't mean the green Martians planted them. Al Gore is like a novice tree expert explaining how the Green Martians planted the trees.

The Standards of Science

Here's an example of how corrupt science is. About a century ago, someone observed a leaf mold above morel mushroom compost and claimed it was a conidial stage of growth for the morel. To this day, morel scientists are claiming it to be a growth stage of the morel, because they never question anyone else's science in a significant way.

The morel mushroom is as different from a leaf mold as plants are from animals. Leaf molds had their characteristic stabilized about 300 million years ago, while the morel just started evolving from a yeast (a single celled organism) about 50 thousand years ago and is still rapidly changing. A leaf mold decays solid leaves, while the morel requires soluble nutrients and has no extracellular enzymes for decay. Leaf molds grow exposed to the atmosphere, while morel mycelium dies due to dehydration when exposed to the atmosphere. A leaf mold produces microscopic spore structures called conidia, while the morel produces a large spore structure called an ascocarp (the mushroom). A leaf mold produces external spores on a stalk, while the morel produces enclosed spores like a yeast. A leaf mold has microstructures including rosettes and crosiers (which haven't evolved since hundreds of millions of years ago), while morel mycelium has no micro-complexity.

None of this means anything to morel mushroom scientists, because they aren't studying science, they are mongering power. The same is true in every area of science. Power mongers shove real scientists aside to promote their agenda. It is out of this well that the claim is created that carbon dioxide is the cause of global warming.

Addendum – Sun's Energy

It's important to realize that radiation from the sun does not greatly heat the atmosphere, because the sun must give off high frequency radiation in the area of visible light, which goes through the atmosphere. Something as hot as the sun cannot give off low frequency radiation, called infrared. This means that the sun's radiation heats the surface of the earth, and then the heat moves from the earth's surface into the atmosphere through conduction, convection, evaporation and infrared radiation. The infrared radiation can be absorbed by so-called greenhouse gasses.

CNN is betraying truth. The planet is cooling, not warming

Why the Copenhagen climate talks matter

(the headline should be: how the socialist plan to control you) This article is a joke. Carbon Doxide is not making the air temperature of the planet hotter. Anyone who says it is; is a LIAR!!!

They won't likely deliver a new global treaty on global warming, but the decisions made here may still change our lives.

8 weird ways to save the Earth
Geoengineering, or deliberately tinkering with the earth's climate, could help if global warming proves disastrous for mankind, but the ideas are untested and the risks unknown.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- It's a massive jamboree, with tempers on both sides of the issue running hot and no final deal in sight.

But even so, we'd better pay attention to what transpires here, the consequences of action or inaction may be massive.

Starting Monday, 15,000 people are expected in Copenhagen, Denmark. Over the next two weeks they're supposed to be hashing out a successor to the Kyoto Treaty, the global deal regulating greenhouse gases that expires in 2012.

Among them will be over 100 world leaders, including President Obama and half his cabinet.

Hundreds of environmentalists are also expected, some protesting outside the massive convention center. With the world's top scientists saying global warming is caused by humans and that quick action is needed to avoid devastating consequences, the environmentalists will be pushing for cuts in greenhouse gases that go far beyond what most nations are proposing.

On the other side will be a handful of U.S. senators opposed to any deal at all. The ring leader of this group is James Inhofe, the Oklahoma senator who has famously called man-made global warming "the greatest hoax ever played on the American people."

They'll question the science behind global warming, holding up recently hacked emails from prominent climate scientists. The emails apparently show the scientists, frustrated with a small but vocal group of global warming skeptics, trying to keep dissenting opinions out of prominent journals and attempting to hide inconsistencies in the overall data.

Most independent analysts say the hacked emails do not change the nature of the debate - the emails, however inappropriate, don't undermine the consensus of hundreds of scientists that have been studying this issue for decades.

Still, might there be conflict between the believers and skeptics at the convention? "It's a good question," said Kyle Ash, a legislative representative for Greenpeace who's already in the city. "I'm excited to see what happens."

While a new Kyoto treaty isn't expected, thanks in large part to the U.S. Senate's inability to move climate legislation already approved in the House, experts expect the framework for an eventual deal will take shape.

What that deal looks like will ultimately affect how much Americans pay in their gas and electric bills, and how quickly the world cuts greenhouse gas emissions.

"It will set the stage for what's to come," said Divya Reddy, an energy policy analyst at the Eurasia Group, a political risk consultancy. "And that will translate into changes in lifestyle and energy costs."

What's on the table

Conference organizers at the United Nations are pushing for three main objectives:

-Numbers from each nation as to how much they can reduce greenhouse gases.

-How those reductions might be achieved.

-And how much money the developed world is willing to give developing nations as they attempt to cut pollution.

President Obama recently pledged that the United States can reduce emissions by 17% from 2005 levels by 2020. Others nations measure cuts from 1990 levels. Using this standard, the U.S. cut is roughly 4%.

The European Union has already pledged to cut emissions by 20% from 1990 levels by 2020, and has said it might even go for a 30% cut if others nations promise big reductions.

China says it can't cut overall emissions, but is instead promising a 40-45 percent cut in carbon intensity -- the amount of emissions created in relation to the growth of its economy -- from 2005 levels. India, Brazil and a host of other nations have pledged similar reductions.

Obama's proposal is roughly in line with legislation passed in the House, and slightly less aggressive than a bill in the Senate. The Congressional Budget office estimates the House version will cost the average American household $175 a year by 2020.

Too little?

Scientists have two deadlines for when reductions must be made. Obama's reductions are far below the 25% to 40% cuts scientists say are needed by 2020 to head off the worst effects of climate change. But U.S. lawmakers say their plan will ultimately achieve the reduction scientists say must be made by 2050.

Conference organizers originally hoped to make these commitments binding law in Copenhagen, but experts say Obama won't move on any deal until he's sure the Senate will pass a climate bill similar to the one that passed the House this summer.

"It is unlikely that the United States will sign up to a commitment on which it does not think it can deliver," Deloitte analysts Nick Main and Joseph Stanislaw wrote in a recent research note. "The passage of that [Senate] bill and any eventual passing of legislation will be a fundamental prerequisite to any agreement."

The Senate was expected to take up a climate change bill early in 2010, but with health care reform still unfinished and financial regulation reform slated next, passing a climate bill anytime in 2010 now looks optimistic.

As for money to help developing nations tackle emissions and deal with climate related problems like rising sea levels, Greenpeace is calling for $140 billion a year to be transferred from rich nations to poorer ones.

It's a number broadly in line with what other analysts expect will eventually be passed, although the breakdown of who pays for what is uncertain. Europe has agreed to contribute $22 to $40 billion a year. In the U.S., the House climate change bill allocates at least $8 billion a year, a figure that's already baked into the estimated $175 yearly household cost.

Ultimately, most analysts expect Copenhagen will result in a statement of broad principles and agreed upon goals, but little in the way of action.

"The room for surprises is pretty limited," said Paul McConnell, a carbon analyst at Wood Mackenzie, an energy consultancy.

The next major global meeting on climate change is set for next December in Mexico, and will likely be the next opportunity for supporters of mandatory cuts to get a binding agreement. To top of page

The Great Global Warming Scam, Hoax, LIE!

The Global Warming Scam

CLIMATEGATE!

LEAKED EMAILS AND DOCUMENTS FROM HADLEY CLIMATE CHANGE UNIT PROVE GLOBAL WARMING "EXPERTS" KNEW EARTH IS ACTUALLY COOLING!

If you own any shares in alternative energy companies I should start dumping them NOW. The conspiracy behind the Anthropogenic Global Warming myth (aka AGW; aka ManBearPig) has been suddenly, brutally and quite deliciously exposed after a hacker broke into the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (aka CRU) and released 61 megabytes of confidential files onto the internet. (Hat tip: Watts Up With That)

When you read some of those files – including 1079 emails and 72 documents – you realise just why the boffins at CRU might have preferred to keep them confidential. As Andrew Bolt puts it, this scandal could well be “the greatest in modern science”. These alleged emails – supposedly exchanged by some of the most prominent scientists pushing AGW theory – suggest:

Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more. [full article]

Pre-2007: Global warming

Global warming has finally been explained: the Earth is getting hotter because the Sun is burning more brightly than at any time during the past 1,000 years, according to new research. A study by Swiss and German scientists suggests that increasing radiation from the sun is responsible for recent global climate changes. Dr Sami Solanki, the director of the renowned Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Gottingen, Germany, who led the research, said: "The Sun has been at its strongest over the past 60 years and may now be affecting global temperatures. [Telegraph 18/7/04]

They say that over the last century the number of sunspots rose at the same time that the Earth's climate became steadily warmer. [BBC 7/6/04]

Global warming and melting polar ice caps are not just problems here on Earth. Mars is facing similar global changes, researchers say, with temperatures across the red planet rising by around 0.65 degrees over the last few decades. [Register]

For about 300 years Jupiter's banded atmosphere has shown a remarkable feature to telescopic viewers, a large swirling storm system known as The Great Red Spot. In 2006, another red storm system appeared, actually seen to form as smaller whitish oval-shaped storms merged and then developed the curious reddish hue.

Now, Jupiter has a third red spot, again produced from a smaller whitish storm. ... Jupiter's recent outbreak of red spots is likely related to large scale climate change as the gas giant planet is getting warmer near the equator. [NASA]

Neptune has been getting brighter since around 1980; furthermore, infrared measurements of the planet since 1980 show that the planet has been warming steadily from 1980 to 2004. As they say on Neptune, global warming has become an inconvenient truth. [World Climate Report]

2007+: Global cooling

Dr. Kenneth Tapping is worried about the sun. Solar activity comes in regular cycles, but the latest one is refusing to start. Sunspots have all but vanished, and activity is suspiciously quiet. The last time this happened was 400 years ago -- and it signaled a solar event known as a "Maunder Minimum," along with the start of what we now call the "Little Ice Age."Tapping, a solar researcher and project director for Canada's National Research Council, says it may be happening again. Overseeing a giant radio telescope he calls a "stethoscope for the sun," Tapping says, if the pattern doesn't change quickly, the earth is in for some very chilly weather. [ICSC 2/9/08]

Over the past year, anecdotal evidence for a cooling planet has exploded. China has its coldest winter in 100 years. Baghdad sees its first snow in all recorded history. North America has the most snowcover in 50 years, with places like Wisconsin the highest since record-keeping began. Record levels of Antarctic sea ice, record cold in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South Africa, Greenland, Argentina, Chile -- the list goes on and on. No more than anecdotal evidence, to be sure. But now, that evidence has been supplanted by hard scientific fact. All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA's GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously. [DailyTech 2/27/2008]

IPCC computer predictions of warming versus real-world temperature data (blue and green lines):

Arctic ice extent was 30 per cent greater on August 11, 2008 than it was on the August 12, 2007:

Recent satellite observations from the Arctic indicate that spring ice melting is beginning at a lower rate than normal this year. According to the National Snow and Ice Data Center, the area of ice-covered ocean has decreased only about 750,000 km2 from its peak value at the end of February, compared to a normal decline of 1.1 million km2 by late April. If this trend continues, the annual ice melt in 2009 may be less than in recent years, and the late summer Arctic ice extent may rebound from its well-publicized downtrend. [stormx 4/22/2009]

[A] 20-member contingent [of scientists] from Canada, the U.S., Germany, and Italy - spent one month exploring the North Pole as well as never-before measured regions of the Arctic. Among their findings: Rather than finding newly formed ice to be two metres thick, "we measured ice thickness up to four metres," stated a spokesperson for the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research of the Helmholtz Association, Germany's largest scientific organization. [National Post 5/4/09]

In 2008-2009 the ice melt across during the Antarctic summer (October-January) was the lowest ever recorded in the satellite history:

The Global sea level rise has flattened considerably since mid-2005:

Rise of sea levels is 'the greatest lie ever told'.

The period between about 1645 and 1715 was particularly cold and coincides with the Maunder Minimum, where only about 50 sunspots appeared, compared to an expectation of from 40,000 to 50,000. [New American]

[In 2008 the Sun] hit a 50-year low in solar wind pressure, a 55-year low in radio emissions, and a 100-year low in sunspot activity. [BBC]

NASA's press office "marginalized or mischaracterized" studies on global warming between 2004 and 2006, the agency's own internal watchdog concluded. In a report released Monday [4/4/2008], NASA's inspector general office called it "inappropriate political interference" by political appointees in the press office. [PhysOrg]

A simple method of manipulating surface temperature data which does not involve rocket science is to place temperature monitors in areas prone to heating or next to heat outlets.

Temperature monitor next to incinerator

Okay, take notes, there will be a quiz at the end of class.

First of all, greenhouse effect is not a bad thing. Without it, our planet would not support life as we know it, as the average temperature would be too cold to support liquid water.

Water vapor is the single most potent greenhouse gas in the atmosphere, trapping more heat than carbon dioxide and methane put together. Estimates of the impact of water vapor on global warming vary widely from a minimum of 60% of all greenhouse effect to 98% of all greenhouse effect, but even at the minimum of 60%, that leaves 40% of greenhouse effect to be shared by all other chemicals combined, including carbon dioxide and methane (which has ten times the greenhouse capacity pound for pound as carbon dioxide).

A closer look at the numbers

Now then, looking at Carbon Dioxide, we find that only .117% of atmospheric carbon dioxide is directly attributable to human technology such as automobiles. .117% is a rather small amount. If we were to measure out .117% of a football field, it comes out to 4.212 inches, barely long enough to get off the touchdown line.

So, if humans ceased all technological activity, we would still see 99.883% of the carbon dioxide remain in the atmosphere, assuming all other factors remain stable (which is, of course, silly.)

Over the last few years, there have been very careful studies in Antarctica which clearly show global temperatures rising together with atmospheric carbon dioxide. Global warmers have sent me several of these research papers with the usual "Ah HA!" type comment, but on reading the papers it is clear that the global warmers stopped at the abstract, because what these recent studies show is that Carbon Dioxide levels increased AFTER the rise in global temperature. Let me re-state that. Studies of Antarctic ice show that the Earth would get warmer, and THEN Carbon Dioxide levels would increase. And there is nothing at all mysterious about this. Carbon dioxide is a very unique chemical in that it is more effectively dissolved in liquids in lower temperatures. Normally, air will hold more water when warm, sugar will dissolve in water more quickly when warm, but carbon dioxide will escape from solution as the temperature rises, which is why your beer will soak your shirt if it is too warm when you open it.

So, as the sun warms the Earth (as recorded in the ice) carbon dioxide dissolved in the oceans and lakes bubbles into the sky like too-warm soda pop fizzing over the top of the glass, and as the Antarctic ice reveals, winds up in the atmosphere.

Now, this is not to say that I think we should waste our planet's resources. Quite the contrary, I think we need to be very careful of what we have, because we are not likely to get a replacement planet any time soon. But the global warming "hype" is exactly that, hype to sell products and policies. If you want to do something about the damage to the planet caused by oil, STOP THE WARS BEING FOUGHT OVER IT!

Sixteen gallons of oil. That's how much the average American soldier in Iraq and Afghanistan consumes on a daily basis -- either directly, through the use of Humvees, tanks, trucks, and helicopters, or indirectly, by calling in air strikes. Multiply this figure by 162,000 soldiers in Iraq, 24,000 in Afghanistan, and 30,000 in the surrounding region (including sailors aboard U.S. warships in the Persian Gulf) and you arrive at approximately 3.5 million gallons of oil: the daily petroleum tab for U.S. combat operations in the Middle East war zone. [Pacific Free Press]

The [Iraq] war is responsible for at least 141 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MMTCO2e) since March 2003. To put this in perspective, CO2 released by the war to date equals the emissions from putting 25 million more cars on the road in the US this year.[climateandcapitalism.com]

AMERICA IS ALREADY BANKRUPT. GET READY TO WATCH IT GET WORSE. MUCH WORSE.

Obama Will Bankrupt America

March 25, 2009 – President Barack Hussein Obama's budget plans will create $9.3 trillion dollars in deficits during the next decade. And, he doesn't seem bothered in the least by this astronomical sum.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released these figures earlier this week. Last week, the Obama Administration had predicted a deficit of $2.3 trillion.

Figures this high are incomprehensible to most Americans. If you stacked up a trillion dollars in one-hundred dollar bills, the stack would be 789 miles high – or the size of 144 Mount Everest's stacked on top of each other. (Source: NPR, 2/08/2008)

Obama's socialist schemes will bankrupt America if Congress doesn't put the brakes on his drunken sailor-like spending. This kind of spending is unsustainable, but I think Obama understands this. He's not stupid.

He doesn't care if America goes bankrupt. His goal is to nationalize every industry in America to create a system of centralized economic planning. We call this socialism and it is a failed system of economicsthat inevitably brings about economic decline. In this system, the middle class is destroyed to pay for the indolent. Businesses die because economic incentives are destroyed. In its worst form – Communism – it also brings human slavery and death.

It's time to re-read F.A. Hayek's classic 1944 work, The Road To Serfdom that describes how socialism inevitably leads to tyranny. It appears, however, that Obama is working from a different book, The Communist Manifesto.

The Communist Manifesto includes 10 points:

  1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
  2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
  3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
  4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
  5. Centralization of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
  6. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the state.
  7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
  8. Equal obligation of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
  9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.
  10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc.

Our President and his Treasury Department officials seem to be working on #5 and #7 right now.

WE THE PEOPLE CREATE JOBS, MR. PRESIDENT. NOT THE GOVERNMENT!

Note to Obama: Only Private Sector Creates Wealth, Jobs

By Jack Kelly

President Barack Obama has little interest in, understanding of or affection for free markets, so he fails to understand that the fundamental relationship between government and the economy is that of parasite to host.

Some functions of government are absolutely essential to a free economy. We need a sound currency, civil courts to enforce contracts and to provide a peaceful means of dispute resolution, protection from criminals at home and enemies abroad. Other functions of government -- chiefly those such as Social Security, Medicare and unemployment insurance that involve the redistribution of wealth -- are supported by large majorities of Americans.

 RECEIVE NEWS ALERTS

But though government can consume wealth and redistribute wealth, it can't create wealth. And unless wealth is created, there is nothing to consume or redistribute. That's why -- even when government is doing something we all agree must be done or most of us want to have it do -- government is a parasite. All it has is what it takes from the producers of wealth.

A healthy host can support a lot of parasites. A sickly host cannot. So whether you like big government or small, you should support what it takes to keep the private sector robust.

John F. Kennedy, a liberal who wanted to expand the role of government, understood this. His policies were business friendly.

Barack Obama does not. He thinks he can continue to heap burdens on the producers of wealth without having it affect the production of wealth.

He's mistaken.

The unemployment rate reached 10.2 percent this month, more than two percentage points higher than Mr. Obama's economic advisers predicted it would if his $786 billion stimulus bill were passed. The Associated Press, in reporting Tuesday on disappointing third-quarter economic numbers, noted some economists expect it to reach 11 percent by next summer. That would be the highest since the Great Depression.

The stimulus failed chiefly because it was designed more to reward the president's political allies than to fight the recession. But the stimulus failed also because stimulus funds were used to preserve jobs state and local governments could no longer afford because of falling tax revenues. The private sector has borne more than 100 percent of the job loss because state and local governments have added 110,000 jobs, according to an August report by the Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government.

A job's a job, right?

Not exactly. Preserving government jobs may deepen the recession because government workers are not engaged in wealth creation and their salaries must be paid by people in the private sector who are.

"Basically what you have is your producers in society losing their jobs and looking for work ... and they are likely to face tax increases going forward (to support government workers)," Brad DeHaven of the CATO Institute told The New York Times.

State revenues have fallen 8 percent and local government revenues 2.8 percent, the Rockefeller Institute reported earlier this month. This suggests the government jobs propped up by federal stimulus funds will be lost next year unless another massive federal subsidy is provided. But with federal tax collections having fallen 18 percent from October 2008 to October 2009; with the budget deficit for the last fiscal year reaching $1.84 trillion, roughly triple what it had been the year before; and with the national debt at a whopping $12 trillion, this would be fiscally dangerous and politically poisonous to do.

Federal government civilian wages averaged $79,197 last year, according to Free Enterprise Nation, compared to the average private sector employee's wage of $49,935. When benefits are included, federal workers have pay packages twice those of private sector workers, on average.

Workers in the private sector are getting tired of subsidizing government workers. A Quinnipiac poll of heavily Democratic New Jersey released Tuesday indicated 75 percent of respondents favor freezing the wages of state workers to balance the budget, 68 percent want to cut programs and services, 61 percent want to lay off state workers. Only 23 percent want to raise taxes.

The economy wants to heal itself. But the president keeps heaping burdens upon it. His job approval has tumbled as Americans recoil from the taxes and spending proposed in Obamacare and cap and trade, and from the massive debt he's piling up.

For the economy to grow, government must shrink. But the president and Congress are rushing pell mell in the opposite direction.

NO MATTER THE TOPIC THIS PRESIDENT ONLY CARES ABOUT HIS OWN IDEOLOGY

SO MUCH FOR HAVING AN INTELLECTUALLY CURIOUS PRESIDENT. THIS MAN IS NOT THE PRESIDENT OF THE PEOPLE. HE IS THE PRESIDENT OF HIS GOVERNMENT AND HIS SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS. ALL MY WORST FEARS ABOUT HIM ARE COMING TRUE. 2012 CANNOT ARRIVE ANY FASTER.

The controversy swirling around the leaked e-mails of climate scientists apparently trying to downplay data and exclude dissenting opinions has led to calls for President Obama to skip this month's climate summit in Denmark until the e-mails can be investigated.

Instead, the White House announced Friday that Obama was doubling down on his commitment to the summit's goals and moving his visit later in the month, hoping it will secure a "meaningful" agreement.

The scandal being referred to as "Climate-gate" has rallied global warming skeptics, who say the threat is exaggerated -- let alone caused by humans. In some of the e-mails stolen by hackers and posted online, scientists at Britain's University of East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit appear to discuss hiding or deleting data that may contradicts global warming claims. Others discuss ways of keeping competing research out of peer-reviewed journals.

Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is the most prominent figure to call on Obama to boycott the conference in Copenhagen in the wake of the e-mails' release.

"The president's decision to attend the international climate conference in Copenhagen needs to be reconsidered in light of the unfolding Climategate scandal," she said in a posting on her Facebook page. "Boycotting Copenhagen while this scandal is thoroughly investigated would send a strong message that the United States government will not be a party to fraudulent scientific practices."

But on Friday, Obama abruptly delayed his arrival at the summit until Dec. 18, the last scheduled day and considered a crucial period when more leaders will be in attendance. Obama is hoping to capitalize on steps by India and China and build a more meaningful political accord, the White House said.

The U.S., India, and China all have specific proposals on the table for the first time, and world leaders are aiming for a deal that includes commitments on reducing emissions and financing for developing countries. They no longer expect to reach a legally binding agreement, as had long been the goal.

The White House is shrugging off the Climate-gate e-mails.

"I think there's no real scientific basis for the dispute of (global warming)," White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said this week.

And Obama's top science adviser, John Holdren, downplayed the e-mails Friday, telling Congress that the controversy involves a small group of scientists and how they have interpreted and shared global warming data.

"It's important to understand that these kinds of controversies and even accusations of bias and improper manipulation are not all that uncommon in science, in all branches of science," he said at a congressional hearing.

"The strength of science is that these kinds of controversies get sorted out over time as to who is wrong, who is right, and how much it matters, by the process of peer-review and continued critical scrutiny by the knowledgeable community of scientists," he said.

But one senior Republican, Sen. James Inhofe, has called for an investigation, and some climate change analysts say the e-mails undermine the entire Denmark conference.

"This raises questions about some of the very U.N. science that forms the basis of what's going to be discussed in Copenhagen," said Ben Lieberman, a senior policy analyst at the conservative Heritage Foundation and an expert on energy and environmental issues.

"There's a lot to be concerned about here," he told Fox News. "At the very least the president shouldn't agree to anything in Copenhagen until we get to the bottom of Climate-gate and find out just how much there is to global warming that we can still trust."

Despite a recent decline in global temperatures, the trend over the past 150 years has shown temperatures rising -- but the timing of the e-mail scandal is perfect for skeptics, said Heather Conley, senior fellow with the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

"It doesn't negate the fact that the global community does need to address its rate of emitting carbon and it needs to develop clean and greener technologies, but it does continue to throw this debate out there," she said.

The president's climate czar, former Environmental Protection Agency administrator Carol Browner, said she's sticking with scientists who believe in man's impact on global warming.

SWINE FLU SCAM WINDING DOWN. ALL THE HORROR WAS A HOAX!

ATLANTA – Swine flu infections continue to wane, just as vaccine is becoming plentiful enough that some communities are allowing everyone to get it, not just those in priority groups.

Swine flu was widespread in only 25 states last week — mostly in the Northeast and Southwest, officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday.

In late October, 48 states were reporting widespread cases of swine flu. But since then, there's been a decline across the country, and it appears that a fall wave of swine flu infections has peaked.

Meanwhile, a shortage of swine flu vaccine is easing, with 73 million doses now available, roughly twice as much as there was a month ago. And another 10 million doses are expected in the next week, Dr. Thomas Frieden, the CDC's director.

Initially, limited supplies caused the CDC to advise state and local health officials to reserve doses for those at highest risk for severe complications from swine flu or those who take care of them. That group includes pregnant women, children and young adults, health-care workers and people with asthma and certain other health problems.

Demand for the vaccine is still high in many places, but enough has become available that some communities are now giving it to people outside the priority groups, Frieden said.

"The number of communities that do that will increase in the coming weeks," he predicted, at a press conference in Atlanta.

At least three states — Alaska, Arkansas and Oklahoma — have begun offering swine flu vaccine to all comers. And some communities have opened vaccinations up, including Broward County, Fla., and Sacramento County, Calif., said Paula Steib, spokeswoman for the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials.

Since it was first identified in April, swine flu has sickened an estimated 22 million Americans and killed 4,000. It has proved to be similar to seasonal flu but a bigger threat to children and young adults.

The swine flu pandemic has so far hit in two waves in the United States: First in the spring, then a larger wave that started in the late summer.

Flu is hard to predict, and health officials say they are worried of the possibility of a third wave this winter. The CDC said a new round of public service announcements about getting vaccinated are to begin next week.

THE WORST WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY EVER-Liberals just Stink!

Tense White House exchange

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs speaks during the daily briefing at theAP – White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs speaks during the daily briefing at the White House in Washington, …

Contentious exchanges between White House press secretaries and members of the media have been fairly commonplace during the past few presidential administrations.

However, the one that took place Wednesday between White House press secretary Robert Gibbs and April Ryan of American Urban Radio, in which Gibbs essentially compared Ryan to a petulant child, is among the most heated (and entertaining) in recent memory.

The testy exchange was sparked by Ryan's insistent questioning of White House social secretary Desiree Rogers' role at the recent state dinner, which has been in the headlines because of the fallout from Tareq and Michaele Salahi's "party crashing."

Ryan claimed that there have been whispers around Washington insinuating that Rogers had overstepped the traditional role of her title at the event to become the "belle of the ball," thus "overshadowing the first lady." Frustrated by Ryan's tabloid-y line of questioning, Gibbs instructed her to "calm down" and to take a deep breath," adding "I do this with my son and that's what happens."

As the press corps cringed, murmured and chuckled at Gibbs' chastising, Ryan shot back: "Don't play with me." Check it out:

In the end, Gibbs recommended that they return to more weighty issues, "like 98,000 men and women in Afghanistan.

THE GREATEST LIE EVER

Climate Gate and The Global Warming Lie
Town Hall ^ | 11/23/09 | TampaDoc

Posted on November 24, 2009 3:37:43 AM EST by kathsua

Its really is funny when you think about it. Its another fuzzy bunny the left has rolled out to demoralize and destroy capitalism. Remember the "whole in the ozone"? Remember they said the ozone would be gone in ten years? That was 1980, within 10 years the hole was the smallest ever recorded. By the way, look for this again, for a long time there was no significant change. So someone came out with a new scale and all of a sudden it looks bad by the "New Scale" so this may be the next "crisis" now that Global Warming has been exposed as a hoax. The sad thing about this is that all the information has been there all along. True it was beening discredited by the Global Warming Liars (GWL) but it was there. Starting with the fact that the whole foundation on which the whole farse was based was all a lie. The famous "Hockey Stick" graph developed by Michael Mann the father of the Global Warming fraud and the head of GWL (Global Warming Liars), turned out under scientific scrutany to ba a total fraud.

http://www.sodahead.com/world-news/9292009-confirmed---global-warming-hockey-stick-is-a-fraud/blog-180309/

The next big lie is that CO2 is a "Greenhouse Gas". OK, biology 101. What is required for plant life to grow? That's right, CO2! In fact the fossil record show increased CO2 occurs AFTER a warming cycle, not before, and the result is the best plant growth the planet ever expieriences. In other words it's good for the planet. Some scientist (and I agree with this theory) believe that the world oil reserves are from massive algae blooms AFTER and extreme warm cycle in which entire lakes became algae, which died and became fossil fuel. Do a search on CO2 and you'll find most scientist laugh at the CO2 lie. It's like saying O2 is bad for humans. So with all of those scientist laughing at the GWLs they needed to twist the truth again to give themselves some kind of credibility. So they started these lies.

http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2006-04/uom-hyb041206.php

Did you ever wonder why it is no longer called Global Warming? Because the planet is getting colder! Yes for ten years it's been getting colder. Now this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who went outside this summer, or last winter for that matter, it's been cold! We have had the coldest somer in 30 years and the third coldest summer in recorded history. That was following the coldest winter in 40 years! So it's getting hard to hide now because it's COLD! o what do the GWLs do? They make up new lies.

So basically they are now saying that its so hot, that it's cold. That's right, you heard it,, it's so hot that its cold! Oh and here is the otehr classic, There is a diffeence between weather and climate. Just because it get's cold, it doesn't mean that it's not hot. So going back to my question, what happened to Global Warming? Well, my mom always said, "When you tell a lie, you have to tell a bigger one to cover it, then the yjust keep getting bigger" Hence, it's now called "Climate Change" by the GWLs.

http://planetgreen.discovery.com/work-connect/glolbal-warming-summer-cold.html

Now I'm not argueing that Earth got warmer then usual during the 90s, it did. But was it caused by CO2, no! Was it cause by man, no! Was it caused by Algore? maybe! Seriously, if you want to know what caused it, it's simple, walk outside at noon tomorrow and look up. That's right, it's the Sun! Solar activity (solar flares, sun spots) effect temperatures. There are regular recorded cycles that have proven that they effect the temeratures. These periods of activity go on for years. This caused warm periods like the Medieval Warm Period where for 400 years temperatures were far in excess of current temperatures.

http://www2.sunysuffolk.edu/mandias/lia/vikings_during_mwp.html

Now the GWLs claim that it wasn't as warm as it is now, howwever they were trees in Greenland, they were growing grapes in northern England, Greenland and Labrador in areas that to this day can't support cold tolerent hybrids that didn't exist in Medieval times. Oh, nay sayer, you want proof, look at the names of streets and farms in northern England, they are still named after vineyards that have been gone for 800 years.

OK, but you said sunspots are responsible for the warming during the 90s, can you prove that? Well yes I can, either Man Made Global Warming is contagous, or it's fake. It seems Mars has gone through the same temperature cycle we have.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article1720024.ece

Isn't that odd that CO2 in our atmosphere would effect a planet that ranges from 36 million miles (at nearest point) to over 250 million miles (furthest point). Wow, that Global warming is much worse then we thought!

OK, so now you are saying "You said "now that Global Warming has been exposed as a hoax", what do you mean? Well, now they've been caught with their pants down. Let's call it Climate Gate!

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/21/science/earth/21climate.html

You'll notice our old frienf Micahel Mann was mnetioned for his "Old trick". Well you know the saying, if you repeat a lie enough times.... Well the bottom line is a lie is a lie, Global warming, I mean Man Made Climate Change is a hoax. More and more every day the public is figuring it out.

So why have scientist gone to this extent and lied and made up data? Well, it's simple some did it for the money, wether you get your grants or not can be a great motivator. Some did it for notoriety, let's face it, no one would even know the name Michael Mann if it weren't for him doctoring research. Or who would pay any attention to Algore if it weren't for his lies (oh, yeah, he invented the internet, didn't he). Soe did it for power and redistribution of wealth, let's face it, the rest of the world would love for us to sign the UNFCCC treaty so that we have to pay the world restitution followed by tax on usage and have the UN dictate how much carbon fuels we can use.

http://wattsupwiththat.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/un-fccc-copenhagen-2009.pdf

The bottom line is, if you read all of this and still believe that Man Made Global Warming is real and is caused by CO2, then you are a spit drooling moron and there is no help for you. If you learned anything from this, spread the word, send this to someone. Remember all of you GWLs the truth will set you free!

THE MOST ANGRY WOMAN IN AMERICAN POLITICS

Sen. Barbara Boxer is shown here, alongside Sen. Kit Bond, at a committee hearing on Capitol Hill July 21. (AP Photo)

One man's whistleblower is another woman's criminal hacker.

Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., is calling the leaked e-mails from climate scientists at a British university research unit a "theft" and "crime" that should be investigated, despite calls from Republicans to investigate the contents of the e-mails themselves, not the way they were leaked.

"You call it Climate-gate. I call it E-mail-theft-gate," Boxer said at a hearing Wednesday on the Committee on Environment and Public Works, which she chairs. She suggested that a criminal conspiracy might even be at play in bringing the once private e-mails to public light.

Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla, ranking Republican on the panel and a vocal global warming skeptic, has instead called for an intensive review of climate change science in light of the e-mails, which appeared to show scientists discussing the manipulation of climate research. He sent a letter to Boxer Tuesday calling for hearings.

Inhofe spokesman Matt Dempsey said Thursday that his boss continues to believe Congress should be more focused on the scientific data than the conditions of the leak, and suggested Boxer may come around.

"We think that as she looks closer at the e-mails she'll understand the importance of getting to the bottom of the scandal," he said. But he added that Republicans were "enthused" by Boxer's apparent willingness to have hearings.

"She left open the fact that the Senate may have hearings on Climate-gate," Dempsey said.

Indeed, Boxer acknowledged Wednesday that her panel might examine the scientific side as requested.

"The main issue is, are we facing global warming or are we not? ... I'm looking at these e-mails, that have been, even though they were stolen, they are now out in the public," she said. "We may well have a hearing on this, we may not. We may have a briefing for senators, we may not."

But she made clear that her focus is going to be on pursuing the hackers.

"This is a crime," she said, entering into the record the section of criminal code that deals with fraud connected with accessing computers without authorization. "Part of our looking at this will be looking at a criminal activity which could have well been coordinated."

The e-mails have caused waves ahead of an international conference in Copenhagen on climate change. The director of Britain's University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit, where the e-mails came from, has already stepped down pending an investigation.

Republicans are raising broad questions about the science behind global warming in the aftermath.

"If these e-mails show anything, they show scientists obstructing the scientific process," Inhofe said Wednesday.

Several Republicans sent a letter to Environmental Protection Agency Director Lisa Jackson Wednesday calling for a "thorough and transparent investigation" into the matter.

More on the total SCAM that is GLOBAL WARMING!

Climategate: it's all unravelling now

So many new developments: which story do we pick? Maybe best to summarise, instead. After all, it’s not like you’re going to find much of this reported in the MSM.

1. Australia’s Senate rejects Emissions Trading Scheme for a second time. Or: so turkeys don’t vote Christmas. Expect to see a lot more of this: politicians starting to become aware their party’s position on AGW is completely out of kilter with the public mood and economic reality. Kevin Rudd’s Emissions Trading Scheme – what Andrew Bolt calls “a $114 billion green tax on everything” – would have wreaked havoc on the coal-dependent Australian economy. That’s why several opposition Liberal frontbenchers resigned rather than vote with the Government on ETS; why Liberal leader Malcolm Turnbull lost his job; and why the Senate voted down the ETS.

2. Danes caught fiddling their carbon credits. (Hat tip: Philip Stott) Carbon trading is the Emperor’s New Clothes of international finance. It was invented by none other than Ken Lay, whose Enron would currently be one of the prime beneficiaries in the global alternative energy market, if it hadn’t been shown to be (nearly) as fraudulent as the current AGW scam. It is a licence to fleece, cheat and rob. Still, jolly embarrassing for the Danes to get caught red handed, what with their hosting a conference shortly in which the world’s leaders will try, straight-faced, to persuade us that carbon emissions trading is the only viable way of defeating ManBearPig.

3. Hats off to The Daily Express – the first British newspaper to make the AGW scam its front page story.

Express

The piece was inspired by another bravura performance by Professor Ian Plimer, the Aussie geologist who argues that climate change has been going on quite naturally, oblivious of human activity, for the last 4,567 million years.

4. BBC finally gets round to reporting – sort of – that Climatic Research Unit at University of East Anglia may have been up to no good. It’s true that this report on their website is so hedged with special pleading for the temporarily suspended director Phil Jones the man might have written it himself. But on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme this morning, I did hear the newsreader reporting it as more than just a routine theft story. Which is a start.

5. Legal actions ahoy! Over the next few weeks, one thing we can be absolutely certain of is concerted efforts by the rich, powerful and influential AGW lobby to squash the Climategate story. We’ve seen this already in the “nothing to see here” response of Dr Rajendra Pachauri, the jet-setting, troll-impersonating railway engineer who runs the IPCC and wants to stop ice being served with water in restaurants. This is why those of us who oppose his scheme to carbon-tax the global economy back to the dark ages must do everything in our power to bring the scandal to a wider audience. One way to do this is law suits.

At Ian Plimer’s lunch talk yesterday, Viscount Monckton talked of at least two in the offing – both by scientists, one British, one Canadian, who intend to pursue the CRU for criminal fraud. Their case, quite simply, is that the scientists implicated in Climategate have gained funding and career advancement by twisting data, hiding evidence, and shutting out dissenters by corrupting the peer-review process. More news on this, as I hear it.

Lord Monckton has written an indispensible summary of the Climategate revelations so far.

6. Watch out Green Dave! The Independent reports on the growing backlash within the party to Cameron’s libtard-wooing greenery. Turning to the Independent for a balanced report on environmental matters is a bit like consulting Der Sturmer for a sensible, insightful view on the Jewish question. Still, for once, the house journal of eco-loonery seems to have got it right and the point made by Tory backbencher David Davis is well made:

“The ferocious determination to impose hair-shirt policies on the public – taxes on holiday flights, or covering our beautiful countryside with wind turbines that look like props from War of the Worlds – is bound to cause a reaction in any democratic country.”

The Swiss draw the line. Who shall follow?

Swiss ban mosque minarets in surprise vote

GENEVA – Swiss voters overwhelmingly approved a constitutional ban on minarets on Sunday, barring construction of the iconic mosque towers in a surprise vote that put Switzerland at the forefront of a European backlash against a growing Muslim population.

Muslim groups in Switzerland and abroad condemned the vote as biased and anti-Islamic. Business groups said the decision hurt Switzerland's international standing and could damage relations with Muslim nations and wealthy investors who bank, travel and shop there.

"The Swiss have failed to give a clear signal for diversity, freedom of religion and human rights," said Omar Al-Rawi, integration representative of the Islamic Denomination in Austria, which said its reaction was "grief and deep disappointment."

Some 2.67 million people voted 57.5 to 42.5 percent in favor of the referendum by the nationalist Swiss People's Party, which labeled minarets as symbols of rising Muslim political power that could one day transform Switzerland into an Islamic nation. Voters in only four of the 26 cantons or states opposed the initiative, granting the double approval that makes it part of the Swiss constitution.

Muslims comprise about 6 percent of Switzerland's 7.5 million people. Many are refugees from the Yugoslav wars of the 1990s and fewer than 13 percent practice their religion, the government says. Swiss mosques have not traditionally broadcast the call to prayer outside their own buildings.

The sponsors of the initiative said the growing Muslim population was straining the country "because Muslims don't just practice religion. They increasingly make political and legal demands."

Local officials and rights defenders objected to campaign posters showing minarets rising like missiles from the Swiss flag next to a fully veiled woman.

"The minaret is a sign of political power and demand, comparable with whole-body covering by the burqa, tolerance of forced marriage and genital mutilation of girls," the sponsors said. They noted that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has compared mosques to Islam's military barracks and called "the minarets our bayonets."

Anxieties about growing Muslim minorities have rippled across Europe in recent years, leading to legal changes in some countries. There have been French moves to ban the full-length body covering known as the burqa. Some German states have introduced bans on head scarves for Muslim women teaching in public schools. Mosques and minaret construction projects in SwedenFrance, Italy, Austria, Greece, Germany andSlovenia have been met by protests.

But the Swiss ban in minarets, sponsored by the country's largest political party, was one of the most extreme reactions.

"It's a sad day for freedom of religion," said Mohammed Shafiq, the chief executive of the Ramadhan Foundation, a British youth organization. "A constitutional amendment that's targeted towards one religious community is discriminatory and abhorrent."

He said he was concerned the decision could have reverberations in other European countries.

Amnesty International said the vote violated freedom of religion and would probably be overturned by the Swiss supreme court or the European Court of Human Rights.

The seven-member Cabinet that heads the Swiss government spoke out strongly against the initiative but the government said it accepted the vote and would impose an immediate ban on minaret construction.

It said that "Muslims in Switzerland are able to practice their religion alone or in community with others, and live according to their beliefs just as before."

It took the unusual step of issuing its press release in Arabic as well as German, French, Italian and English.

The results were in stark contrast to opinion polls, last taken 10 days ago, that showed 37 percent supporting the proposal. Experts said before the vote that they feared Swiss had pretended during the polling that they opposed the ban because they didn't want to appear intolerant.

"The sponsors of the ban have achieved something everyone wanted to prevent, and that is to influence and change the relations to Muslims and their social integration in a negative way," said Taner Hatipoglu, president of the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Zurich. "Muslims indeed will not feel safe anymore."

The People's Party has campaigned mainly unsuccessfully in previous years against immigrants with campaign posters showing white sheep kicking a black sheep off the Swiss flag and another with brown hands grabbing eagerly for Swiss passports.

The four Swiss minarets now standing are unaffected by the amendment, which was turned down only in the urban French-speaking cantons of Geneva, Vaud and Neuchatel as well as the German-speaking city ofBasel.

Geneva's main mosque was vandalized Thursday when someone threw a pot of pink paint at the entrance. Earlier this month, a vehicle with a loudspeaker drove through the area imitating a muezzin's call to prayer, and vandals damaged a mosaic when they threw cobblestones at the building.

Associated Press Writers Shafika Mattar in Amman, Jordan, Eliane Engeler in Basel, Jennifer Quinn in London and Giovanni Fontana in Rome contributed to this report.

YALE AND HARVARD ECONOMISTS GOT IT ALL WRONG

Economists Are Destroying America

Economists, politicians, and executives from both parties have promised American families that “free” trade policies like NAFTA, CAFTA, and WTO/CHINA would accomplish three things:

• Increase wages
• Create trade surpluses (for the US)
• Reduce illegal immigration

Well, their trade policies have been in effect for about 15 years. Let’s review the results:

• Declining real wages for 80% of working Americans (while healthcare, education, and childcare costs skyrocket)
• A record-high 46 million Americans who don’t have health insurance (due in part to declining wages and benefits)
• Illegal immigration out of control
• Soaring trade deficits, much with countries that use slave and child labor
• Personal and national debt both out-of-control
• Global environments threatened by lax trade deal enforcement

Economists Keep Advocating Policies That Aren’t Working

Upon seeing incontrovertible evidence of these negative trade agreement results, economists continue with Pollyannish blather. Some say, “Cheer up! GDP is up and the stock market’s doing fine.” Others say, “Be patient. Stay the course. Free trade will raise all ships.”

Even those economists who acknowledge problems with trade agreements offer us only half-measures—adjusting exchange rates, improving safety nets, and providing better job retraining. None of these will close the wage gap in America—and economists know it.

Why Aren’t American Economists Shouting From Street Corners?

America needs trade deals that support American families and businesses in terms of wage, environmental, and intellectual property abuses. Why aren’t economists demanding renegotiation of our trade deals? There are three primary reasons:

• Economists are too beholden to corporations and special interests that provide them with research grants.
• Economists believe—but refuse to admit—that sacrificing the American middle class is necessary and appropriate to generate gains in third world economies.
• Economists refuse to admit they make mistakes.

Economic Ambulance Chasers

Now more than ever, Americans need their economists to speak truth and stand up to their big business clients. Instead, economists sound like lawyers caught chasing ambulances: they claim they’re “doing it for our benefit”.
